Don Carlson

Don has been drawing for as long as he can remember. He is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara. He has been in art education for 25 years having taught in the public schools for fifteen years and the past ten years he has taught at the Kirk Miller Art Studio.

Don has been an art director for Ford Aerospace as well as giving art demonstrations and workshops in the art industry. He brings this experience together instructing children ages 8 to 18 at the studio helping them reach their highest potential in art. Don has a fond love for the sea and specializes in seascapes in oil. His paintings are available through local galleries.


Brian Christenson

Brian graduated from the Laguna College of Art and Design with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art emphasizing illustration. Brian currently works as a freelance graphic designer, and curator for Scribble theory Gallery while continually persuing personal painting endeavors.

As a teacher Brian focuses on developing a strong fundamental understandin of traditional art skills for his students uncluding drawing, painting, composition and design.



Edward M. Doyle, Jr.

Ed’s art covers a variety of subjects; still life, landscape, wild life and more. He is a member of the Tustin Art League, Orange County Fine Art League, and The American Society of Aviation Artists.

Ed has had three one man shows of his work in the past three years. His work hangs in private collections all across the country.

Ed worked for the Orange County Department of Education for five years as a teacher and currently is teaching at The Kirk Miller Art Studio



dennisDenis Foy

For years Denis has used his talent of Art and Design withing the corporate world through Marketing and Advertising.

He returned to fine art, full focus in 1995. Each year he honed his skills through formal and informal education.

Formal Education: Open Door Gallery with Kirk Miller, Saddleback College, Santiago Canyon College, Irvine Valley College, Plein Air with Jeff Horn, workshop with Ken Auster.

Teaching: Denis became a member of the staff at the Kirk Miller Art Studio and has taught both formal and enrichment art training.

Denis has recieved many awards in competitive competitions and has been a displaying participant in local art walks and shows. His work has been displayed in other venues plus the following Galleries.
California: The Salon Gallery, Art and Frame Gallery, Kirk Miller Art Studio, and Quorum Art Galler in Laguna Beach.
Washington: Parklane Gallery, Kirkland, WA; Villagio Gallery, Issaquah, WA.

His paintings are in private collections in the United States, Japan, and Europe.

He is a founding member of the Tustin, California Art League and presided as president for three years.
